The Principals of Homestead Capital Group, Mr. Haskel Iny and Mr. Ronnie Schwartz began their real estate development careers in multi-family housing in California in 1978, as Haskel Property Inc. and RS Investments Inc.
In 1980 they merged with Homestead Group Associates a licensed General Contractor, and started a Real Estate Development, Investment and Property Management entity. Within a few years, Homestead Building Associates and its affiliated companies grew to become one of the largest Real Estate developers in the U.S. with hundreds of apartment units and condominium projects throughout Los Angeles.
In 1986, the Company was ranked the 4th largest residential builder in Southern California by the LA Times (out of 400 builders) and in 1989 they were recognized as the 62nd largest residential builder in the U.S out of 400 builders nationwide (Professional Builder Magazine). The company received more than 12 awards in Architecture and Interior Design for many of their individual projects, such as Best of the West Building Award and The Gold Nugget Award.
In 1994, after a very successful career in multi-family housing in California, the Principals made a strategic decision to move to Las Vegas to diversify and build upon a family legacy. In less than four years, Homestead and its affiliated companies, were named the 2nd largest commercial developer in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Company's projects included apartment complexes, office buildings, shopping centers, land development, single family subdivisions and condominiums. The Company also acted as a financial arm to other developers by financing construction loans and by providing investment capital to several joint venture partners in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada.
In the international arena, the Company and Hacienda El Dorado, S.A. are developing projects in Costa Rica. Since 2001, more than 11 individual projects were constructed in Costa Rica which were either sold as real estate projects, individual condominiums or as a developed and ready to build on land.
To date, the Principals and their company’s developments include more than 550 individual commercial and residential projects totaling 3 million square feet of space in four states, and more than $2 billion in real estate developments in North America and Costa Rica.
As premier money managers, Mr. Schwartz and Mr. Iny also specialize in international real estate syndications. In the mid 1980's to the early 1990's they oversaw Asian investment ventures and pre-sales of bulk real estate portfolios to Taiwanese and Japanese investors.
